DONATE

Do you have a batch of 10 or more ready to go?

Thank you for sewing! We want to help you get them where they are needed, so this is how it works:
  • After you have a batch of 10 or more ready to go, click on the Donate Masks button below
  • Fill in the short form to tell us about the face coverings you have made
  • Our team of volunteers will match your batch with an organisation in need of face coverings. We carefully vet requests so they get to where they are most needed
  • We email you with instructions about where to send them
  • Post your face coverings to the address we give you in the email, or on rare occasions we may be able to match you locally so you can deliver in person. Please read the section below 'Posting your face coverings' for guidance on posting
  • Reply to our email (with batch number) to let us know your batch has been sent.

Posting your face coverings

Remember to keep them clean. We will be instructing all of our recipients to wash the face coverings before wearing them, but please do your best to keep them germ-free as well. Wash your hands frequently and work in a clean area while sewing. If you have Covid-19 symptoms please stop - both for your wellbeing and the people who will receive your face coverings.

Place masks in a plastic ziploc bag or equivalent (to protect them on the way) and then into a mailing envelope (for example, a padded envelope, manila envelope, or plastic shipping envelope).  Don't forget to include the printed instructions.

How many stamps will I need?

The price will depend on the weight of materials and packaging so you must weigh and measure your own batch or take it to a post office. See here for post office list of size and weights, or here for their price finder.
We cannot tell you how much it will cost to send your particular masks. But, as an example, you can expect batches of 10 - 20 face coverings to fit as a “large letter” if you pack them correctly. The package must be less than 35.3cm long, 25cm wide, and 2.5cm deep (i.e. approximately the size of a thick A4 envelope). It must weigh less than 750g.

Arranged properly (inside Ziploc bags), 10 - 20 face coverings may fit inside an A4 manila or padded envelope or a jiffy bag (depends on exact size and weight of fabric and pattern).

Watch out if the package is thicker than 2.5cm. They must be able to fit “freely” through those plastic slots at the post office. If they have to be squeezed through, then it will cost more.

For posting larger batches, you will need to post as “small parcel” (45cm x 35cm x 16cm, weighing less than 2kg) or “medium parcel” (61cm x 46cm x 46 cm, weighing less than 20kg).
